We are aspiring for a pure ahimsa life style and local, sustainable diet.
Ahimsa means milk and products from protected cows only. It also means avoiding allergens and foods which cause inflammation, metabolic disease and addictive habits. We follow Ayurvedic practices to keep our bodies healthy, minds steady, and each day productive.
Here, sustainable means eating our own seasonal fruits and vegetables and choosing ingredients, as much as possible, that we are able to grow ourselves. Eating local means eating simple, and our food motto is "consume what you produce - produce what you consume".
What we cook, serve, and consume:
- Seasonal produce
- Brown basmati and calrose rice, oats, quinoa, buckwheat and millet
- Mung dal, chickpeas, green and yellow peas, green and black lentils
- Sprouted spelt, rye, besan, millet and buckwheat flours
- Unrefined cold pressed coconut oil and olive oil
- Whole tumeric and ginger, black pepper, cumin, coriander, fennel
- Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and hemp seeds
- Sweets with unrefined sugar, gur/jaggery, honey
- Pure rock salts
What we don't:
- Meat, fish, or eggs
- Mushroom, garlic or onions
- Commercial dairy: only ahimsa milk products
- White sugar
- Processed or junk food
- Commercial seed oils
- Peanuts
- Wheat
- Tropical fruits
- Artificial colouring, preservatives, or natural flavours
We are not here to tell you how to live, what to eat, or what's best for you. We simply do not use any of these products and will not serve them to anyone. Whether the reason is health, sustainability, or spirituality, together we are preparing for a world where what we grow is what we get, so let's get ready.
